Wiking Axe: Find Your Inner Viking

People come for the axes, they stay because there’s nowhere else quite like it. We checked out Viking Axe and spoke with the team to find out more.

For someone who’s never been here before, what should they budget for the full Viking experience?

Axe throwing starts at 55 PLN for 90 minutes. Beers start at 15 PLN, pizzas at 35 PLN. Bring a hundred złoty and you’re set for a proper Viking night.

What does every first-timer need to know?

We teach everything before you throw. The rules are simple: aim at the target, one person on the lane at a time, and always watch out for each other.

Is axe throwing about strength, technique or a secret Viking skill?

Technique—and listening to your instructor. Our goal has always been simple: everyone leaves knowing how to throw an axe.

What’s the one rule you always repeat?

Take care of each other. Especially if you like each other.

What’s the first thing people order afterwards?

Loaded fries with cheese and bacon. They disappear fast.

Do people stay for the food?

It’s fifty-fifty.

What’s the signature drink?

Our meads, Viking AIPA, or The Last Berserker cocktail.

One food and drink recommendation?

A craft beer with a Tartufo or Spianata pizza. If you’re still hungry, order the homemade chicken tenders.

Do confident people ever completely miss?

Constantly. They’re usually the most satisfying to teach.

Who surprises you more?

The people are convinced they’ll be terrible. A few tips later, they’re throwing like Vikings.

Funniest excuse after a miss?

The axes are blunt.” Funny how the same axe suddenly works after a little coaching.

Do many companies come here?

All the time. Axe throwing is surprisingly good at revealing who stays cool under pressure.

Craziest thing that’s happened?

A pigeon flew in, decided axe throwing wasn’t for pigeons, and we had to stage a full pigeon evacuation.

Does the leaderboard create rivalry?

Absolutely. Getting into the ValHall of Fame is harder than people expect.

Do people think they’ll top it on day one?

Every day. Then reality—and the first throw —hits.

Last one. Why should people spend their next night here?

Because nowhere else mixes axe throwing, craft beer, Viking hospitality and a unique atmosphere quite like Wiking. Add a touch of Slavic history, and you’ve got a night out people travel across Poland for.
